Hey blondes-- did your hair turn LIGHTER after baby?

So, I had a baby 4 months ago. I was at the salon today having it cut, and the stylist asked if I'd at one time dyed my hair a darker shade of blonde-- becuase I had a lighter blonde growout! It was just over an inch long, which means it started turning lighter right about when i had baby.

I hadn't noticed it, but theres an obvious contrast. My roots are the blondest part in my hair! Has anyone else had this happen after baby?

I had just the opposite, my hair turned darker and thicker, I also have curl were I did not at one time. Its due to the hormones.

I have a strawberry blonde, and while I was pregnant some growth came out a little ashy, now that my daughter is 5 months I have a darker almost brunette color coming out and I HATE it... I think I will dye it. My sister just had a baby and she was a natural light golden blonde and hers did get much lighter and everyone thought she highlighted or bleached it.

You need to re read your info. I could harldy understand what you wrote. Try an anti frizz product. Redkin Smooth Down works really well in wet or dry hair.

You must make your hair more moisturised. Use conditioner after you shampoo your hair. I used pantene and after every wash i apply pantene leave-on moisturizer. Now my hair look less frizzy...

Ackshully contrary to Liljomo you shouldn't try to comb it or straighten. Try a curly/Afro perm if you've got a lean face. You've got what is called tight hair. And trying frizz-ease is just greasing more chemicals to thin out and make your hair fall, trust me. But hey great beauty advise says you shouldn't read Cosmo mags coz they only make u feel ugly and don't listen to anyone but the flo of ur hair.P.S. You can't hate a part of ur body and still have it with u spiritually ever.Cheer up!

I had a similar problem. try washing it at night, I don't know why but when you wake up the next morning it won't be frizzy. Also try rubbing a few drops of olive oil onto your hands and then squeezing it onto the ends of your hair, that works too. Oh! another thing that works wonders is to walk around with thick rollers in your hair for a while after having washed it and dried it a little. Good luck!

My guess would be be careful on how you blow dry your hair. If your hair is curly, maybe you should spring for a diffuser and don't manipulate your hair so much while drying. Another option would be to let your hair air-dry while in a braided ponytail. Other option would be to use a silicone rich conditioner on the ends of your hair only and leave it in for about 10 minutes and rinse thoroughly. Then use a serum (if your hair is thick and dry) or some kind of light cream or spray to control the frizz. If your ends are frizzy, then it might be damaged. The only solution would be to snip it off. No need to waste money on treatments that only temporarily hide the problem *shrugs*.

Right when I read your question I hoped that you wouldnt ask to change that color. Your hair sounds beautiful. My mom uses covergirl. or something like that, but dont use loreal, its not very good.

you can't rely on those charts on the side of store bought color. For all the professionals out there, I have to say, you need to be seen by stylist to decide what will produce the results you want and to get something really flattering and healthy. Anyone who has ever used the store bought kind will admit (or they are lying) that at some time it screwed up and didn't come out like they wanted. Get a professional opinion. I could tell you what to buy in a beauty supply store, but even then without seeing your hair, it could be dead wrong. We all have undertones to our hair, and some have color on their hair already and both of these and other reasons are why those charts don't work. You really have to know your stuff to get good results.

my hair is extreamly curly. it has been this way since i was very young. i dont like it. it is too hard to mannage and i spend over 30$ a week on hair care prodects. No straighteners will work. i have asked all my friends, but no one knows. the last web site i asked told me to use this stuff for people with afros, but i dont have one so no. anyway, one of my friends has the same type of hair as mine down to the color, dirty blond, but the last straightening product she used bleached her hair so now she has spots of platinum blond. i dont want my hair like that. no automatic straighteners work on my hair. What else can i use. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!

My hair is the same way. Go to Wal-Mart. There is a ceramic hair straightener by the brand of ANDIS. It's barely $20. Or, you could buy some Redken Straightening Balm. It works.

I used sun in when I was younger and it ruined my hair!!!

I had to wait YEARS for it to grow out, and I could not do anything to fix it. I tried dying over it and it looked so horrible.

Use more lemon juice, or get it done proffessionally, please don't use Sun In.

Lemon juice really works. If you put it in your shampoo and use it for a while, it turns your hair a natural blonde color, and looks so great! my friend elise did it. she used to have brown hair, now it's totally blonde! Report It

sunin does work as long as you put it in and go out in the sun... also lemon juice works good out in the sun as well

and i dont see how dye would change you hair color to orange... it will only go orange if you put orange in it.. or if your hair has a red tint to it... but your best bet if you only want to go a little lighter is to use lemon jucie or sunin

Yes SunIn works but you MUST condition before and after you use it! Otherwise your hair will dry out. Also, there is a product called SunSilk Blonde Bombshell. You use it instead of a conditioner. Leave it in for up to 5 minutes and the difference is great! It really brings out the highlights in your hair plus it leaves it soft and silky. I love the stuff. The more you use it, the lighter your hair gets. And when you stop using it, it washes out in about 6 shampoos. It's the first non-peroxide/bleach hair lightener that I've found really works and leaves my hair in better condition then before.

Yes, it will work well for you. Just don't use it everyday. That can damage your hair. Start with a little and increase until you get the desired effect. Then don't use it again for a couple of weeks.
