I have seen women with brown and blond underneath and blond and brown underneath. I want something drastic but one big problem I have Red hair. I have had blond highlights but just didnt show up. Is this something I shouldnt do with Red hair? And is there another color I should use besides blonde? Should I do it at all?

I recommend you find a stylist who you've gotten good recommendations for. Ask other redheads, especially. Even if you don't know them...really! They'll be flattered!
Brown or black would be pretty easy, but lightening will probably just get you a lighter shade of auburn. Not that this is bad...just don't expect to get blonde.
Personally, I recommend black with your red. First, try a black wig and see if the color works with your skin. If not, you want the front area red, no matter what. The rest you can do as you want with, since it your face won't reflect it, anyway.

I don't know what shade of red hair you have and it would depend. I have really dark red hair so black would show up but it wouldn't be that drastic. Dye your whole head strawberry blonde and then underneath really dark brown. The colors should complement each other but still appear very bold. I would never do this to my own head, but if it is the look you are going for I think it would work out.

Professionally, this look is outdated now. Dimension in hair color is always in but drastic, two toned is not happening. If you have a lovely red then why not punch up your tone and perhaps drop your nape color a level or two but in the red family. The effect will compliment what you already have and be similar to the drastic look but more refined and current. Best of luck.
