Two questions about highlighting my hair?

Well my hair color is light brown like the brown in this woman's hair http://www.flickr.com/photos/jburns/7269...

I want to have some highlights like the ones she has. So question #1. Will they have to bleach my hair in order to highlight with that blond color?

Question #2. Will those highlights look good with thick black eyebrows and black eyeliner and mascara?

Thanks in advance!

They will put bleach in your hair, but then they remove it when it gets to the shade you want (so they don't bleach your strands white blonde, and then add golden tones).

I think thick black eyebrows might look a bit strange, but you could always get the highlights and see how your brows look. If they look weird, lighten them! (just apply a little bleach with a toothpick to brows and leave on for about 30 minutes, but keep check the shade every 10 minutes to make sure!!)

i am not sure about question #1 but for # number 2 i think that u would be better off keeping ur hair color and just highlighting ur hair

Two questions about highlighting my hair?

answer to ? #1: well i got red higlights and my hair was like your natural color hair and they had to put bleach first and then add the color i wanted. so pretty sure u have 2 bleach to get higlights..

anwser 2 ? #2: im dam sure it will look gud wih thick black eyebrows and eyeliner and mascara.......

Two questions about highlighting my hair?

Both looks are fabulous! But what I find is that many do not give consideration to the maintenence, by that I mean touching up the regrowth.

First, your first suggestion of adding the "chunky" blonde hilights to your already brown hair would be easier and cost effective, ( probably only one process instead of two)

Second the next picture your friend suggested will involve adding the black ( I personally would go for a dark "cherry-cola ish color) and then you'll have to add hilights, a two process this will probably double your cost, and then of course maintaining the outgrowth.

As an added hint to all who want to dye their hair black, this is the most difficult process to "bleach out" it'll turn orange and other hideous colors before you can get it to "normal" and then we don't even have to discuss the great amount of damage caused by all that, please resist it unless you are a hard core goth which is a look very hard for most to pull off.

Two questions about highlighting my hair?

I think that if ur hair is naturally brown than u should go w/ the look in the first pic.

Since u mention though that your eyebrows are black...than i am inclined to think that ur hair is naturally black. In that case, you should just do the highlights on ur black hair...like the second pic. That way your eyebrows and hair will be the same shade and you don't have to worry so soon about having to get the roots re-colored.

By the way yes, they did have to bleach the strands that were highlighted.
