I dyed my hair dark brown two weeks ago. I started out as a blond and I tried to do my roots myself. The dye burned my skin so i had to rinse it out too soon, and i was left with orange roots. So i dyed it all brown and i hate it! How long should i wait until I can go get my hair professionally done, like big blond streaks all over?

I would wait about 2 weeks. The same thing happened to me and the salon told me to wait that long. If you go too soon your hair will be very brittle and there might even be a chance they won't color you.

If you are really worried go into the salon and they can give you an idea of what they will have to do and how soon they can do it..

If your hair feels very brittle or dry, you can expect to wait awhile.

Ou! Sooo sorry! For one, don't do anything until your scalp/skin is back to normal. In the meantime, you will have to search for someone/salon that has experience with color correction - very important!

It might cost a little more, but think of it this way: it's only a 1 time deal and after that you can go anywhere - if not, you risk damaging your hair further, that will result to cutting a lot of it.

Also, don't try to lighten it to much too quickly and let whomever will do the correction know whether it was a red based or ash (non-red) based brown - it will affect outcome!

2 weeks, but girl, the bleach is gonna burn your scalp if you are really sensitive to the chemicals. if it does burn, wash your hair with bio-kur, it will stop the burning and itch. the stylist is gonna have to fix those roots, then do the bleach after, so i guarantee you that your scalp is gonna hurt. that's why you get it done professionally from the start.

I would go see a Salon Professional. You should wait at least 2-3 weeks before going. Because of your burnt scalp. Wear it up in a pony tail until then hun. Because you gonna end up burning it again. I know been through that Too.

Just ask a hair stylist before you try something else. You don't want the worst to happen, my sister in-law lost lots of hair. Almost bald... She never put on color again that often.

You are probably using a semi-permanent color that washes out in several shampoos, like Clairol's "Loving Care". Try a more permanent color,like" L'Oreal Preference" or go to a salon and have your color done professionally, especially if you're going many shades darker, or lighter.

Either way, you are who is in charge of your hair.

So, you should give it a try to both options, then you decide which one you like best, then you stick with it for good.

Since you sound like you have cool coloring (hence the pinky skin and blue eyes) I think black hair would be a good idea, only skip the red and/or blonde highlights--these have warm bases and will probably not suit you. I'd suggest either getting ink blot black (black with strong blue undertones) or black with platinum blonde (as in, basically white) highlights.

If you don't mind straightening your hair a flattering cut that is big right now is an inverse bob. Basically this is a bob haircut that is longest in the front and progressively gets shorter in the back.

I personally think that black hair would look very beautiful on you, especially with your description. Red highlights look better with black so you were already on the right track. As far as a best hairstyle, maybe a bob? Shoulder length or even ear length if you want to live dangerously. You could simply have some texture and shape added to your hair with a razor cut. It would lighten your hair's look and also give it a different appearance without drastic measure. I would try a syling guide (whihc you should eb able to find through a Yahoo! search) or get some advise from a stylist. Hi I wouldnt even touch it with another dye, until it washes out a bit I cant imagine why you wouldthink to put a lighter hairdye on top of the darkest one you have on your hair to make it lighter. The only way you can get rid of the problem is with bleach. Im not saying it will work as if the hair dye was a dark dye you might end up with the blonde you want or orange, but it would be lighter for you to dye over with a light brown. But I would only us Jerome Russel Blonde powder bleach with 12% cream peroxide, But if you dont want to damage your hair as much then just pre lighten it a couple of times. But you wont get the blonde you want.

But it I was iin your situation I would just be patient, go and get another hair dye in brown or light brown, in feria or Loreal excellence, or clarol with multi tonal ones, and then get some of that shampoo and condititoner that brings out the highlights in brunette hair and keep using this then it will look lighter as it start to fade. Most shops have there own make, Timoeti copper radience is good, as well as john freda brilliant brunette, but its a bit pricy. I have the same problem as you and yesterday in tesco I notice they do there own and its brilliant. So just stick to using these for the time being till it fades,

Also use pantene for a few washes as it removes most of the hair colour you have in your hair at the mo.

I have dirty blonde hair and in the summer it is blonder because of the sun I'm assuming. I also put lemon juice in my hair. But in the winter, my hair gets darker and almost light brown. Any suggestions to keeping it blonde in the winter without dying or bleaching my hair? I find that lemon juice + sun works, but does anyone know if it will it still work even if it is cool/cold out? Lemon Juice is a bleach. So is hydrogen peroxide which will also lighten your hair. The sun will bleach your hair as well in the winter as well as it does in the summer, better perhaps since we are closer to the sun. Of course you do have to stay out in the sun about the same amount of time in winter as you do in summer to have the effect; but, the main thing here is that cold and/or heat have nothing to do with any bleaching.

OK ...this is going to sound crazy but it really works...Mix left over black coffee in your shampoo...please make sure that the coffee isn't hot!...if you condition your hair...you can do the same with the conditioner. Doing this will darken your hair gradually...when you get to the tone you like stop...I think this will work out better for you then Henna...once you use that stuff and you don't like it your stuck...Good Luck

Yes there are lots of ways to naturally and safely darken your hair. You can buy a bag of henna which is a plant that is dried then crushed and it gives a really nice vibrant red colour. I have used henna about 4 times and it really worked for me! I have brown hair and it loooked hooooot.

OK, I have fair skin color, green eyes, and a sort of round circle face. I am naturally brown hair, and then I died it to blond. But now I don't know if I should die it red. It looks really pretty. I've never colored my hair or anything, but I've heard stories of people who have dyed their hair red after being a blonde %26amp; the color has come out orange--I think that it happened to one of my cousins. All I can say is be careful when going from blonde to red.

I have a bottle of 20 regular lift developer cream, a package of Kalediocolor violet, two bottles of hair dye L'oreal Champagne Blond Blue base. What goes first? I so have total repect for hairstylists. This color mixing thing is complicated. Thank You

Say if there is 50ml in each mix both them togther then thats 100ml

then mix you developer either equal amounts or 100ml dye to 150ml developer.

or if the bottles have wayy more than 50 ml each in it and you dont want to use it all. Just mesure it in the same way. like 100ml dye-150ml developer or 150ml-200ml....

ok...first off, if this is your first time dying your own hair.....STOP.... a boxed hair dye a few shades lighter or darker than your natural hair color is the best way to go....that way if you miss any spots, it won't be as noticeable, and blonde is such a hard color to get perfect without professional schooling,

i wish you all the luck in the world....but remember if you have any red in your hair it will turn out brassy when you do it at home....also, mixing your own hair dye isn't as scary as it seems, you are off to a good start with the 20 developer, otherwise you might burn your hair....

hi, i'd give the beauty supply shop a call - I am sure you will not be the first person who needs reminding about how to use the products etc and I am sure they would rather you called and found out correctly how use things rather than attempt it, maybe get it wrong and never buy those items again. Lots of people dye their own hair at home, just read ALL instructions and follow to the letter, cover everything you dont want dyed floor, your shoulders etc. and if possible get someone to help - trying to dye the back of your hair especially on your first time can be tricky at the best of times.

Ive had my hair black for about a year now, and i removed color then bleached it a couple of times(i know damaging...)and my hair of course turned oragne.but my roots dyed easier so they are goledn blonde, and i toned the rest of my hair so its not so bright oragne anymore its more strawberry blonde...so i was wondering is there a way to make it all one solid color, a light color(medium blond)..other than going to a professional. i have this garnier extra-light ash blond...but i fear maybe my hair wont take it cuase of the redish blonde and that my roots will dye super easier and still be differnt colors....any recommendations??

I know you want to find a way to do this at home, but I would highly recommend that you go to a salon. At this point your hair is likely damaged from all the coloring, and a professional would be able to color it in the safest way possible. Good luck!

i have a HUGE suggestion! do not use that ash blone on your hair .. it will turn green! the ash does not do well when mixing with other colors.

Look at it like this:If your hair is all different colors when you put a color on each different color will take diferent.

When you are going lighter you can only go 4 shades,

after that you must use bleach or color remover.

Then put desired color on.Color does not lift color.

Maybe you could try that John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze that fits your color of blonde. I use it for my dark brown hair, and it brightens my hair color a little bit...makes it look like I've got natural highlights, and makes it a bit more shiny. It's not really a hair dye...all you do is put it on after you've shampooed, etc., leave it on for five minutes, then rinse it out! After you use it for a couple days, you'll see results. well ive done this quite a bit and it works:

Buy lemon juice in a bottle and some foil.

Select where you want your highlights and wet the selected hair with lemon juice (wet it very thoroughly) - then wrap it up in foil.

Now - go have a lazy afternoon in the sun - and ensure your head is in the sun.

After a couple of hours (approx 2) take the foil off then jump in the shower and wash your hair as normal

same thing happened to me. i used sun-in. you just spray it all over and comb it through. it's heat activated so you either need to blow dry it or let it dry in the sun. hence the name "sun-in." it's really cheap though and it works pretty well.

Okay, I am not a professional but I always always go to long before hair cuts.

Believe me, I know one day can make a difference. Your hair looks good and then POOF!! Its grown out too much.

What I do, and this works....... Use a curling iron and flip it especially the front sides. Can you part it in a different way. You can practice tonight.

My hair always looks better if I wash and dry it (Blow dry it) the night before and make sure it is really dry before going to bed and then use a curling iron/straight iron for that extra bounce.

Everytime I sit in the sun my hair gets blonder. Even if I subject it to any form of heat, it noticably changes colour. I don't want this to continue because it keeps turning a golden yellow shade which just does not suit my pale skin. I mean, it is waaay lighter than my natural blonde hair. Try buying a shampoo and conditioner for your shade of blonde hair. I'm guessing that you have like darker shade of blonde hair so try John Frieda Sheer Blonde for darker shades of blonde (honey to caramel) shampoo and conditioner (so it stays its natural color). Since you have the problem with the sun, use John Frieda Everlasting Blonde Total Color Protector on your hair after you get out of the shower and leave it in. It has special sunscreens in it to protect hair from UV rays.

When I first met the woman I wanted to marry she was a nurse and took her hat off to adjust her ponytail. The hair fell out of the hat and went all the way down her back - she could sit on her hair. That was 29 years ago today. Over the years her hair has been cut shorter as being really long it took ages to wash and dry. Over time her hair has changed in length to allow her to cope with her lifestyle. It is currently shoulder length and she is still as beautiful and the day she could sit on it. In September, I went to a salon and permanetly put platinum blond highlights into my hair, but didn't like it, so about a week later, I did an all-over coloring of goldon blond. I kept the highlights, too, and it looked really cool.

Anyway, I'm getting these really long, ugly roots now and I kind of want to get my hair dyed an all-over permanent chocolatey brown-ish color.

My questions are: What would the effect be on my hair if I went to my salon and asked for a permanent chocolatey-brown color all-over coloring??? Would there still be highlights, and in what color?? Would my color turn out beautiful or a really funky color?? And would it be too harsh on my hair if I did this or not (I have thick, strong hair, too). ABOUT HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST??

Also... (I know this is really long), but would it be too harsh if I did this AND a thermal straightening?

Well...Dying your hair dark is actually healthier for you hair, because it doesn't involve bleach. Your hair would be in better condition. If you still want highlights, tell your hairdresser to dye your hair all over brown, and then put in a few golden highlights when she's finished. It will look fine. As long as you get it done in a salon and not box dyed. Price range varies in every salon, I go to a very exclusive, expensive one. It depends on if your hair dresser is a top stylist or not.

As well, I don't know if you're talking about using a hair straightener or getting it professionally straightened. Hair straighteners won't ruin your hair, but getting it chemically straightened WILL!!! My friend got it done and her hair is a fried disaster. Just stick to the hair straightener, and remember to put some kind of protective straightening cream in your hair before you straighten and blow dry it, just to keep it shiny, soft, and smooth!

I'm growing out my color, being an idiot, I highlighted my hair 2 years ago. I hated being blonde and regretted my decision less than a week later. Problem is, my natural color is impossible to get in a bottle. We've tried. Nothing matches remotely and it always ends up looking worse. So for the last year and a half I've just left it alone to grow out my nautral color, which happens to be a beautiful color. One of the worst decisions ever. UGH!

I was just looking in the mirror and about chin length down the color has faded an the blond is back, but of course it looks like crap. Is there a temporary rinse I can use that won't actually DYE my hair but will tint the blond so that it doesn't look so tacky? I don't want to use anything permanent or something that will damage my hair as I've been growing it out for 4 years (after another disaster, 16inches cut off) and I don't want it to have any more damage.

Roux-Fanciful rinses would be no damage...It's like food coloring for hair....washes completely out after every shampoo...you can get it at Sally Beauty supply or some drug stores.

Try them, several girls at work use it and their hair colors so naturally, and since a Shampoo and Conditioner together, when you wash your hair each time, the color stays and no one knows it taint your color.

This really does work, I use to do it when I was young and my parents wouldn't let me dye my hair,lol!....But wet your hair,towel dry,leave it damp,comb lemon juice through your hair,liberlly,then blow dry it.......it's noticable after just once,but it takes about three times to actually be satisfied.....You said cheap, but you didn't say anything about messy, LOL!...It is sticky as it begins to dry,but hang in there ,it will work, I promise!!! It's also subtle, but noticable,just depends on how many times you want to do it! Good luck!

You can dye it to one of those colors, or even another (must be a natural tone)....but the first thing that is done in basic is a hair cut.

Edit- Okay, you're a woman. Like I said above, you will need to dye your hair to either brown, blonde, burgandy red (or some type of natural tone red) or black. If you have highlights, they will have to be close to your naturl hair color (or of the dye you choose to use). Your best choice is to just re-dye your hair to your NATURAL color so your roots don't show during basic. That's tacky....even if you will look the same as every other gal there.

The USAF has high tip-top standards, and does not allowed multi-colored off natural hair.

Lemon juice is good for highlighting your hair however you won't get streaks like at the salon. Second, lemon juice only usually works when heat is applied too, like the sun, so save it for the summer when you are laying out. Cranberry juice also produces red highlights as well. I would let the chemicals grow out and start squirting lemon juice this summer. Good luck.

you will end up with orange hair if you use sun in... just go to the salon and get some low lights put in to blend it. it helps if you get the highlights underneath a layer so its not exposed at the root as much, so get a honey blone on top and then the blonde highlights underneath a layer, it adds depth and the roots wont show nearly as much, theres also hair mascara you can buy to fill in your roots inbetween highlighting

Probably, but you don't have to do that just for the lighter hair. You can squeeze a little bit less than 1/2 of a lemon into a bowl with about 1/4 cup of water.

1.Rinse your hair out.

2.Stick a PEA size amount of your shampoo into your hair and rub in.

3.Rinse that out.

If your problem persists go to a salon for your next cut/trim get a style that will work for your hair, tell them about your issues and take advice about products and tricks from them.

permanent straightening is a bad idea as it is like getting a perm, eventually you'll get that nasty half straight half wavy grown out look.

You could get bangs (they look good with curly hair too, you could iron them too since it's really easy!) and get some maybe bright blue highlights (not too much though) with maybe red or purple, but dont get green (or orange!)...try maybe cutting your hair a bit too or layering it so it wont be so much as it tends to get very poofy (depending on your hair) Good luck, hope you find the right hairstyle for you!!

i think this is super cute!!! and can def be emo. some things i would do is part it down the middle and just let it hang, put really dramatic eye makeup on and it will totally make your eyes pop out. OR you could part it down the side and pin it with a cute black bow at your eye level, don't straighten it, love the curls pluss you will look emo and totally unique at the same time, which is way better than being a robot.

To make your eye colour really stand out try a complementary colour. I have your colouring too and mostly use brown and mossy green. I use dark grey when I want a smouldering sexy look. Black eyeliner and mascara can look a bit harsh on fair skin unless you like Avril Lavignes's look.

Since your eyes aren't a solid blue, there are always flecks of other colors in there...take a good look in the mirror and see what colors there are. Then find a natural tone of eyecolor that will pick up those flecks and enhance them. The whole idea of makeup is to look natural. If you have a good complexion try to avoid it altogether. Although I don't consider mascara to be makeup...never go out without it!

Keep it curly, girlie! It's Irish! Don't put anything stupid in like a shamrock or something. Maybe wear a silk headband. If you go green go a light almost sage green. Not bright!!! Maybe even a white silk would be good. Wear it wide too. If you want it up, do a loose bun, maybe with some curls out. Not too many and DO NOT make them look stringy. You could put a head band in with that too. Remember, keep the band wide. Light green and white polka dots would be cute on it!

Vo5 has this great stuff called Miracle! Mist. You spray it on before you dry or straighten your hair, and it takes the frizz right out. Any heat-infused straightening serum works great on thick hair. I would suggest for style, part it on the side and stick a thick headband straight down on top of it... it always looks so cute.

Because you have a heart/round face, add layers to your hair and strands that frame your face. It will frame your face nicely. As far as frizzy, I can understand what you mean. Try frizz-free gels that you can rub into your hair and THEN blow-dry. That way your hair doesnt look greasy and volume-less. Also, if your budget allows you to, try some low-lights (highlights that are different shades of blonde) into your hair to add style.

Well it isnt that hard. Okay get Garnier Frutis hair coloring the color you need. That is the best coloring you can get and it soaks it in the hair and nourishes the color to the outside. So the color is on the outside and inside but the outside you can see it better. Before you apply that get lemons and squeeze the juice in a small cup. Make it to about a good size. I mean alot not jsut 1 lemon. Then put on your hands and just go through your hair plenty of times underneath and on top. Get it al over your hair then let sit in your hair fro abotu 30 minutes then apply the Garnier Frutis hair coloring. I know the lemons sound wierd but it works that is part of what they put in coloring. It works i am a hair stylist. I know.

Oh yes. My mate Chalky down the Horse %26amp; Ferret pub once got highlights by accident. Well, he tripped up on the way home from the pub and landed in some roadworkers paint. By heck, you havent seen highlights till you've seen 'em in flurescent yellow. He wanted a good conditioner too, so he tried sticking his head in bucket of best bitter, but the silly bugger forgot why he did it and drank the lot! Anyway, in the end he bought some shampoo from Penkridge market - a real bargin, four boxes for a quid - and stuck that on. Bloody hell! You should have seen him the next day -bald as a billard ball! I absolutely love Biolage Conditioning Balm. It's a little pricey, but you can find it cheaper outside of salons. As for shampoo, something gentle is best - I like Johnson's baby shampoo with honey.

Because your skin contains chemicals that react with sunlight to make it darker, and hair contains chemicals that react with sunlight to make it lighter.

Skin and hair aren't the same thing. It shouldn't come across as a surprise if they don't react the same way.

If someone had light brown hair and they dyed it black would it be more damaged that say if they dyed it medium brown?? Would it be more damaged if they dyed it very blond as opposed to dirty blond?? I'm wondering if more damage occurs when the color is further on the color spectrum from your natural color. And if someone had light brown hair would it be more damaging to dye it blond or black, or would it make a difference??

When you take brown hair and color it black you are just depositing color to your hair. When you bring brown hair up to blond you are opening the hair shaft and drawing the pigment out. So it doesnt matter what color your hair is if you making it lighter you are damaging it worse than taking it darker. This does not mean that it doesnt damage your hair if you take it darker but damages it worse going lighter. Hope this answers your question.

Of course it all depends on how dark your natural color is and how light you want to go.

Hair color is measured in levels. One being black and ten being the lightest blonde.

Hair color will only lift the natural color of hair 3-4 levels, if you're lucky more than that bleach is needed.

If "someone" had light brown hair it would be considered a natural level of 6-7. Blondes start at level 7-8. So achieving blonde on someone with a natural level 6-7 would be easy with color.

If "someone" had hair darker than a 6 then bleach would be needed to lighten it.

As far as damage, if you go to a professional hairstylist you would be safer. Professional hair colors now have a lot of ingredients and additives that now protect the hair from the extreme damage of the old days.

Even bleach is not as harmful as it used to be, however be warned bleach will still dry out your hair.

Hi my name is Julie a stylist from Australia, the same damage happens when you darken your hair no matter how dark, bleaching does the most damage, especially the lighter you go, all colour does some damage specially if you colour a lot, all permanent colour use peroxide as a fixer, if u use vol 10 peroxide, it will do less damage than vol 30, 40 or 50, 40 or 50 vol is only used by professionals. if you use no peroxide it will ony be a temporary colour or a rinse,

going from light brown to medium brown or to black damages it the same. but going lighter is more damaging because you need to bleach your hair and thats what kills it. if you have light brown hair it would be more damaging to go blond than black because for black you just dye it black. but for blond you have to bleach than dye it the blond you want.

its just like paint, you could keep on adding color to make it darker, but if you want to go lighter you have to start with blank. thats what the bleach does to your hair.

all hair colors are damaging to some extent....but if you stick to hair color (going from med brown to blond), you will do less damage than using a bleach to do the lightening. Most light colors have a lifting agent to bring up the color. You wont be platinum, but you will be lighter..if platinum is the look you want, you'll need to bleach first.

Going darker will eventually fade, but not completely, you'll have to re-dye to get back to a color you like..or your original color ..but try a semi permanent that lasts just a few washings to test it out..

you might also try going to a beauty supply for colors and developer. most developers come in 20 volume...(as do most boxed dyes) you can buy different volumes like 40 for lighter looks...or 10 for a not so lifting shade. they're also more likey to have a bigger variety of colors to choose from and can possibly give you more advice. have fun..and good luck

I have seen women with brown and blond underneath and blond and brown underneath. I want something drastic but one big problem I have Red hair. I have had blond highlights but just didnt show up. Personally, I recommend black with your red. First, try a black wig and see if the color works with your skin. If not, you want the front area red, no matter what. The rest you can do as you want with, since it your face won't reflect it, anyway.

I don't know what shade of red hair you have and it would depend. I have really dark red hair so black would show up but it wouldn't be that drastic. Dye your whole head strawberry blonde and then underneath really dark brown. The colors should complement each other but still appear very bold. I would never do this to my own head, but if it is the look you are going for I think it would work out.

Professionally, this look is outdated now. Dimension in hair color is always in but drastic, two toned is not happening. If you have a lovely red then why not punch up your tone and perhaps drop your nape color a level or two but in the red family. Sounds like you have my hair! I have light brown hair with blonde highlights, and it's about the same length as yours. My bangs go down to my nose, it just give them an off-center part and put a light hairspray on them so they stay out of my face. For the body of my hair, I use a fat curling brush and blow dry the ends UP, it doesn't flip, it gives it a nice curl at the ends. I always get compliments on my hair. Try that out and see how you like it.

You would look great with LIGHT-medium brown since your skin tone is pale. You can add in blond streaks or highlights to your hair. Since you have bangs, why dont you cut them into side bangs. You hair length is perfect so dont fuss about it. You might wanna cut layers though.

Hello there.Nearly all forms of 'chemical dyes' will damage the hair to some extent,mainly because these dyes contain ammonia,or peroxide.However alot of todays products have deep conditioning formulas,and can come without ammonia(look out for it on the box) thus the result can actually be much better than expected.Transforming from a brunette to a black,myself,I was quite surprised that my hair felt super soft afterwards-then again I have used a semi permanent,personally I would recommend that you 'try out' the shade that you want ,with either a temporary(usually last 6/8 washes) or a semi(20/24 washes) before you decide its something you want to commit to.Also a must-have for aftercare of hair that is dyed,is to religiously use a shampoo/conditioner designed for dyed hair.This will help prevent further damage,and keep your colour looking alive. II had my hair done at a salon yesterday. it was supposed to be dark blonde with highlights. my hair is natural dirty blond and i had a couple highlights in it. i wanted to go one shade darker for winter -- well it came out brown!! How can I get it back to dirty blond b/c I look hideous!! ive been crying. Everyone says they like it, but i cannot go back to a salon..i already paid a $115 for it and i dont have much more money since i am a college student.

Absolutely, go back to the salon. You paid for a hairstyle that makes you look good and feel good, and that is how you should walk out of that salon.

A place that will charge that much is generally professional enough to give you a "do-over" if you are seriously unhappy with the results.

So, don't despair, and for heaven's sake, don't try to fix it with over-the-sink drugstore haircolor, or you may make bad matters worse AND give the salon a perfectly valid reason not to fix it.

Go right back to them and (very nicely) tell them that you are sorry but you're just not happy with the way you look. No beautician worth his/her salt will allow you to leave feeling totally unhappy with their work!

Relax....wash your hair with joy dish washing soap several times. It will fade. It will fade anyway if you wash it right away and also in time...about 3 weeks. Do what I say and it will fade a shade or two immediately.

If you are not satisfied, call the salon back. If they are reputable, they will redo it free of charge until you are satisfied.

Well, it depends if you got a rinse, you can easily wash it out and start from ground zero. But, if you got highlites you should definitely go back to the salon. After you paid that ridiculous amount of money, you should be able to go back 10 times! The next time you go and get a color, I would suggest bringing an example of the color you want in your hair so there is no confusions.

Try to give ur hair a break after all chemicals. Since most of ur friends like it, i guess it should turn out fine right? Mayb it's not the color u want therefore you seem not liking it much. Sometimes have something different also not bad, my dear.. =)

Be assertive, and go back and tell the hairdresser or the manager of the place that you are not happy with the results and to have them fix it. They cannot charge you and if they threaten to charge you contact the better business bureau. They usually are very nice about things like that. Go back! Get it done! and have them put hair treatment in your hair so you don't damage it!

ok i do hair for a living....i would call back right away because most salons have a policy (mine does....JCpennies) if you get your hair done within 2 weeks and aren't happy you can go back and get it fixed.....if i was the stylist i would much rather have you come back and leave a second time liking it rather than not ever coming back to me and telling ppl i screwed up your hair.....i would just call the stylist and ask if she can do a MALIBU on it to lighten it... its the gentlist thing that won't damage your hair...they could strip it out but that could take hours and be very damaging....if you REFUSE to go back you could always use DAWN DISHSOAP but depending on your hair type....Dawn will dry your hair out a little so its best to get a MALIBU. but i wouldn't wait much longer......

Go back to the salon, talk to the manager. Explain what you have said here, you will be able to get it fixed with out spending another dime. And more than likely, you'll probably get some free products to boot.

If you go back to that salon, they WILL redo it. and you won't have to pay anything.

Hello, I have long blond naturally curyl hair. I have such a hard time finding spray hair gel that washes out of my hair. I used to use Loreal Vive Spray hair gel for curly hair but they don't make it anymore! I now use some salon spray gel that costs 12.00 a bottle, mind you, one bottle lasts me about 2 and a half times! I have long thick curly hair!! I think it's made by Kenra or something like that!! Please help going broke on hair gel!!

I also have long naturally curly hair and I would definitely recommend the Citre Shine line. The gel comes in a big bottle, and usually costs under 2 dollars. The shine sprays and serums by Citre Shine are also wonderful and inexpensive. I have to use loads of product in my hair, so I can't spend alot of money. There have never been any problems with build up or flakes, I just use a clarifying shampoo once a week. (You can buy the products at Target) Hope this helps you...

I don't care for that John Frieda shampoo. I got the kind for red hair and it made my hair dull and my scalp itch. But I know what you mean about your color, like a dishwater blond is what we call it. I don't think either of those shampoos will make a difference though.

My original hair color is the same way. Thats why I decided to dye it one way so I would have a specific hair color. Shampoos for a specific hair color aren't going to make you more blonde or brunette and are pretty much a scam to get people to buy their product (heard of "light enhancing" shampoo? yeah. how can you enhance light.) Anyway, I suggest coloring your hair a shade lighter or darker depending on what you think looks best and then using a color-treated shampoo (Pantene has one) to keep the color from fading back.

Really, any color hair looks fine with any texture hair, the only thing that matters is the color of your skin.

If you're really pale, don't dye your hair darker, it will only make you look more pale.

Although I haven't seen anyone with dark brown hair and black lowlights, there's always a first.

Orrr you could to like medium brown highlights(just don't do blonde...it'll look sooo fake!)

Or you could do black lowlights AND brown highlights, lol.

I have only ever gotten highlights to compliment my natural hair color, which is an ashy dirty blond that is becoming darker. I have gone with mango colored lowlights and loved it. I just went in asking to go darker, thinking lowlights again, but she suggested just dying my hair (cost was a concern and dye was cheaper and less maintance). I trust her and she is a good hairdresser, but I just can't get over the one color look and it has too much auburn. How can I get the orange tint to calm down. just tell your hairstylist that the color is a little too auburn. She should be able to put a toner on it to calm down the color. It's always shocking to go from dimensional color (highlights and lowlights) to one tone. It will just take some getting used to. Especially if you can't afford to do the highlights anymore.

Well, you could use Sun-In but it has peroxide in it which bleaches your hair so why not just go to the salon and get highlights (getting highlights isn't hair dye but they are permanent and you would probably eventually want lowlights-maybe-which would include dye) that way they would know where to put it and how long to process it for your hair color and texture. I used it about 13 years ago when I was 13 or so and it did ok for my hair being blonde but my sister used it on her brown hair at the same time and it turned her hair an orangy color. I wouldn't really recommend it like I would just getting highlights at a salon. Plain lemon juice in your hair out in the sun would also work but you sould still have to be in the sun for a while, I tried that back then too but was too impatient for any results. Otherwise, there isn't much else you can do to lighten your hair.

If you lay in the sun with the lemon juice in your hair for probably a couple of hours, it will normally stay in for maybe a few days or so, but I have brown hair. With your blonde hair, I don't think lemon juice streaks will stay visible for very long unless you plan to go outside with it in your hair everyday.

You can go over it with bleach again. just be very careful!!!

Do not leave the bleach on for long, just until you get the color you would like. Make sure to use alot of deep conditioning treatments to help repair your hair.

Not a hair stylist but I did just get my hair done yesterday and complained about the same thing. She recommended Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner...it's minty. She used it on me and it felt really good on my scalp and smells great. No itching now. It's probably the weather change and the fact that Suave and V05 are really awful and leaving build up on your scalp. Be sure to rinse really well, whatever you use but get rid of those 2.

Try using tea tree shampoo or biolage hydrating shampoo and conditioners. After you shampoo your hair you should use a wash cloth or a hand towel to remove extra water from hair then apply your conditioner leave it on for at least 5 minutes and then rinse with warm water. after you rinse with warm water rinse it again but this time with the water as cold as you can stand it. By using the cold water it allows the hair cuticle (most outer layer of your hair) to close back down after being opened up by all the hot water! Hope this helps ya

it all depends on what your natural hair color is.if you have alot of red pigment and you want to be blonde then i would suggest getting a heavy frosting.i am sure any salon in Sacramento could do that in one visit.you would end up being about 75% blonde with red highlights.

you shouldn't do it right after you just colored you hair. over doing it dries out all your natural oils since you're using ammonia. wait a bit to do it so your hair can accomodate to the new change.

why dont you get some highlights put in. they add a great, mature touch and make your hair look more alive. ask your hairdresser what she thinks, i suggest reds, light browns or maybe dark blondes.

if you deffo want to have it dyed then ask your hairdresser for reccomendations.

Color can't lift color. I would recommend bleach foils only left in a little while so I won't get too light. If you put a lighter hair color in your hair it will really only effect the roots and I doubt you'll be pleased with the results.

Ok dont use lemons your hair will go orange! If you want all over color, i suggest a golden brown like L'oreal paris natural match in 6W(lighter, golden brown can be considered a almond color) or 5W(darker than 6, color is similar to maple). If you want a sunkissed highlighted look, go for revlon custom effects highlights kit in H30. I suggest all over color, since highlighting is really hard to do and can leave hair orange if the color is to light(the one i recomended isnt!) good luck, hope i've helped!)

I don't think you should completely dye your hair because then you have to think about your roots all the time. Plus it won't look natural. You know about highlights, right? Well that will make you go towards blonde. Try lowlights. It lightens your hair in a natural way and looks as if you were out it the sun.

It won't return to natural, you bleached it and dyed it. Sorry it's ruined till it grows out. But you can dye it back to a color that is similar to your natural hair color. Get a color that has a blue/violet or green base so it will get rid of the orange in your hair. Get a color at Sally Beauty, they are better quality, NEVER BUY A BOX DYE!

You will need to tell the stylist that you put Sun In in it,don't lie about it because things can go terribly wrong if you don't tell her. There are certain things that can not be used over Sun In. I let my sister color my hair about 3 weeks ago and turned it orange so I completely understand. I say go to the salon with your mom. If you know the place that she is going to take you/who your colorist will be call ahead and tell them what happened and explain that you don't want your mom to know about the sun-in. Or you can wait until you get there and when your mom goes to sit down tell the colorist then. It's important that a colorist does your hair now just in case it turns another color (as hair is known to do) and she can fix it right then. Don't worry about it to much, we all go through it at some point.

PLEASE tell your stylist!!! It is so important that you let them know b/4 they damage your hair! What most people don't know about products like these is that they contain ingredients like metalic dyes, which go in the the cortex (the middle layer of the hair) and can never be removed. So everytime you apply heat to your head (sweating, blowdrying, sunlight, whatever) the metalic dye is going to continually lighten. Not matter what you try to cover it with. Which sounds good...Just add heat and it'll get lighter. But there's a Law Of Color that exists. Red-orange/orange/gold stages of lightening are the hardest to lighten. It takes something really strong to lift haircolor past those levels. Metalic dye isn't that strong. Also, metallic dyes can react (in a very bad way) w/ what your stylist puts on your hair. So you NEED to let them know so they don't apply the wrong chemicals and you end up w/ a disaster. They will know you lied when this happens, just be honest and tell them up front that you did this and they can discuss solutions w/ you. Most stylists can spot these kinds of over-the-counter 'do's, anyway. Unfortunately, you are stuck w/ the metallic dye until all the hair that it was applied to is cut off. Please be honest and avoid a potential disaster! Your stylist will be glad you did!

get hot sticks... not rollers there is a difference. hot stick take about 20 minutes to heat up then they only need like 5 in your hair to curl it really really good. i suggest experimenting on the weekend though because you have o get the hang of which way to roll them and how tightly but they are really fast and effective or you could always scrunch it and use some gel

put hot curlers in your hair right when you get up, and then while you are putting on your makeup, eating breakfast or whatever, they are setting. Start right down the middle of your head first, and then do the sides and all around. Another option is to wash your hair the night before and make little buns all around your head while it is wet. it takes practice so practice at night, then do it in the morning.

To make them bouncier and on days when I have to leave the house super early, I do it at night. After I pull the iron through, while still hot, I take my hair and wrap it around a curler- either a plastic one or one of those 'pillow' or 'soft' curlers. I do this for my whole head and in the morning I take them out and VOLIA! Curly, bouncey hair. also, don't go crazy with the hair spry, it will wiegh it down.

I also use sometimes heated curlers. I love them but I have WAY too much hair and need to use two sets so using a flat iron method is easier and faster-much faster than a curling iron in my opinion. Because, with a curling iron, you roll it onto the barrel but have to hold it and stand there for sometime while with the flat iron, you just pull it through. Just make sure you use one with rounded plates or else it won't work as well....

I am natrally very blonde not cottontop but very light. i would love to dye my hair purple. are there any dyes that last less than six weeks? Even the stuff that is supposed to wash out will not! It will take a few months, maybe 8-12 wks. I know this sounds crazy but use Kool-aid!!! for purple-use grape kool aid. mix the kool w/water in a bowl and get a cup and just rinse it and get it all wet. It will be gone in a few weeks. If after 3-4 wks its still slightly purple (which I highly doubt) rinse your hair with lemon juice.

I am not sure that there are any that will be gone in six weeks, but Manic Panic has a good purple range of dyes. I once used their violet to streak out my hair and it was more than awesome and bright. However, it did fade back down to blonde but I do not remember how long that took. I have dark brown hair and have been getting blond highlights for about a year. I am on vacation and wanted my hair to be back to my normal color, so I went to a hair dresser who I'd never been to before. She dyed my hair a shade darker than my natural hair color so that it's a very very dark chestnut brown, bordering on purple. When I left the salon I realized the color was way too dark, and now I'm freaking out. Today I washed my hair and it's an ugly brown-black mess. Will the dark brown dye fade? How long will it take to get back to my natural color? Is there anything I can do to expedite the process? I have no problem waiting a week for it to look like my natural dark brown, but if it's going to take much longer than that I might want to pay to get it fixed although I really can't afford to do that...

Clairol company has a staff who can advise on how to fix hair coloring gone wrong. They have a toll free number. You can Google them, or go to the drugstore and look on a hair color box for the number. The color will fade and lighten over time, but won't return to natural color until the dye is all cut off. Best deal is to save and go to a trusted professional for correction. Don't over shampoo, but do keep moisturized. Dyed hair tends to become too dry.

I am a hairstylist. You should go see a professional to strip off the color you already have on your hair and recolor it. Putting color on top of color is only going to make the situation worse. It will cost a pretty penny to have it fixed but it would be much better than having your hair a funny color or falling out. Tempory colors only deposit color. As do semi perminant, demi-perminant, and perminant.

The only way to lighten hair is to use bleach. Not clorox bleach, but hair-lightening bleach you buy from a Beauty Supply Store.

Your best bet is to go to a salon and have it done, otherwise you could face many problems. BUT if you do mess up with the bleach and get spots, put a color similar to your natural color over the blonde spots and when it has processed close to the color it should be, but the color on the rest of your hair next to make it even.

Good luck. Messing with haircolor is tricky if you're not a professional.

As far as going from brown to blond....I've never heard or seen a temporary blond. When you go blond you are actually stripping the color out of your hair...so it would be unlikely that it would be temporary. If your not ready for that much of a dramatic change, try putting just blond highlights in your hair. Either way you may choose to go if you don't like it you can always dye your hair back brown.

I have to do my hair for my year 6 graduation but dont know what to do with my hair?

I have pretty much the same hair so i recomend you get some curling moose rub it through your hair when is damp wrap wnough for a ringlet around your finger then blow dry it then do it continously till you have a nice big curley head of hair.

or just useing a curler if you have one.
